The Law on the Protection of Personal Data, which was adopted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on March 24, 2016, and entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette dated April 7, 2016, and numbered 29677, aims to prevent the violation of personal rights resulting from the unlimited and indiscriminate collection of personal data, its access by unauthorized persons, its disclosure, or its misuse or abuse. This law, which aims to protect fundamental rights and freedoms, primarily focuses on the protection of individuals and seeks to prevent the negative consequences that may arise from the indiscriminate collection and transfer of data.
