The FCC has prioritized essential technologies for a reliable, sustainable and safe complex of machinery and has launched focused programmes for technology development within a geographically balanced and thematically complementary collaborative structure.
Time Schedule
The FCC integrated program, which proposes the phased implementation of FCC-ee and FCC-hh, offers a roughly 20-year timeframe for R&D on key technologies to accelerate advancements in the energy sector. During this period, it will be possible to evaluate alternative technologies such as high-temperature superconducting magnets, and improved parameters are expected to be achieved in terms of cost reduction, energy efficiency, and application risk reduction. As part of the FCC Feasibility Study, launched in 2020, continuous improvements are being made to different options for core FCC-approved technologies, including radio frequency system parameters and stages, high-efficiency klystrons, cryomodule arrangement, and cryogenic temperature and magnet design.
